In a city with so much hype to go around, you'd think more of it would have been thrown James Correa's way when the Montrealer released his 2003 winner, Ghosts In The Belly. After nearly four years, the Eastern spices in his folk-rock have been muted in favour of a rootsier approach. For a five-song EP, there'a lot of ground covered- from the devotional Patches Of Green Earth to the throat-ravaging blues of the title track. Whatever the setting, Correa's soulful rasp gives the questioning lyrics the intensity they require. All 6 Billion Faces should prick up a few extra ears thanks to Jorane playing Emmylou Harris to Correa's Gram Parsons.
